Creates an independent, nonpartisan source of fiscal analysis to evaluate County budgets, assumptions, costs, risks, and alternatives before major spending decisions are finalized.

Board of Supervisors Term Limits

Measure A changes the current limit from two four-year terms to three four-year terms, creating a 12-year lifetime limit.
Years already served count toward the new limit. Current Supervisors do not receive a new 12 years.

Public Defender

Measure A gives the Board of Supervisors the option, by ordinance, to appoint the County Public Defender directly.

Non-Interference Provisions

Measure A clarifies Charter provisions governing interactions between members of the Board of Supervisors, their staff, and County administration.

Modernized County Charter

Measure A updates outdated, obsolete, duplicative, and confusing Charter language to better reflect current law and County government structure.
